Letter [manuscript]. 1844 July 15.

The Letter from Ludwig Leichhardt advises Mr. Pamplin, a London botanical bookseller, of a consignment of boxes of plants, wood and shells which Leichhardt has sent by H.M.S. Ganges to London. The boxes were to be forwarded from London to Dr. William A. Nicholson, Newcastle-upon-Tyne; to the museum of the Jardin des Plantes, Paris; and to the botanical garden of Shoereberg, Berlin University.

F. W. L. Leichhardt, explorer, was born in Prussia. He emigrated to Sydney in 1842 and the following year embarked on the first of series of explorations into Northern New South Wales and Queensland.
